I am sure everyone's tired of the constant updates on Ruthie and sleep, but oh well! ;) Last night was slightly better. I put her in my bed, and I zonked out on the couch. That lasted only about two or three hours, whereafter I got in bed with her and let her nurse basically the whole rest of the night. I was resigned to it because it was a hot, humid, sweaty night so I figured good sleep was going to be an illusion anyway. Maybe the resignation explains why I didn't feel as tired this morning. ;) Of course, by now at 3pm I'm like a limp noodle, so that didn't last. Alas.

The weather is supposed to cool down starting tonight, so hopefully the sleep stuff will get better again. It's hard to sleep when you're so sweaty and sticky. Also I do think there's some teething going on, as well as who knows whatever else. So I'm back to giving Ruthie ibuprofen each night before bed, which I don't love doing, but it seems to help so...? At least she is getting better about taking it. She still fusses and acts like I'm the meanest mama ever and tries to clamp her mouth shut, but at least she doesn't thrash around any more, and when it does go in her mouth, she just swallows it and then asks for "dink" (water).

I am really frustrated by how many events are going on this weekend and next, that I obviously can't go to all of them and am having a lot of trouble deciding which to punt. The local mothers of twins organization is having another huge sale -- we went to their sale last spring and I got SO much great stuff for the kids, and it would be great to go again because we need a lot of fall clothing now (particularly for Isaac who has outgrown all his pants from last year, and the pants I bought him at the end of last winter turned out to be too big and are still too big). But, well, what can you do? Cross your fingers and hope for more yard sales on a following weekend, I guess.

Meanwhile I haven't even had a chance to post about my mom's upcoming back surgery, or how things are going at work (brief version: great), or Isaac's Halloween-related flip-flipping, or the changes I've been making in my diet and how that makes me feel, physically and mentally. Heck, I haven't even mentioned that I started reading Freedom's Apprentice by [livejournal.com profile] naomikritzer, the sequel to Freedom's Gate. What can I say, I've been busy.
