The plumber is here right now, installing my new stove and hood. His assistant is his son who appears to be about ten or twelve. I guess some kids go to summer camp, some go to summer school, and some help their dads install stoves. :)
Man, was there a lot of gross grease/dirt on the walls behind the old stove when he pulled it out. Yuck! Forty years' worth of grease. I scrubbed it as best I could in a couple of minutes. Soon enough it'll once again be hidden, heh.
I foolishly bought way too many bananas that were/are at the same stage of ripeness, so I suspect my first big project with the new oven might be some banana muffins. :)
In "nothing's perfect" news, Ruthie's first day at daycare went great overall ... except that she got bitten twice by another kid. :( ( details here. Also the second day dropoff was less than stellar. )
While I was typing this, the plumber and his son finished putting in my stove. YAY! It works and everything! I'm so excited. :D I may have to take pictures. :)
