the usual mishmash
Jun. 7th, 2007 12:00 pmYou know how they say, in re exercising, that you should be able to speak but not sing in order to be at optimal level of exertion? (i.e. if you can't even hold a conversation then you're working too hard, whereas if you can sing, you're not working hard enough)
Well, by that standard, I definitely got a workout yesterday evening. I mowed the lawn to the strains of Beethoven's 9th (thanks to the cheapo mp3 player that my mom got at Target, which has just barely enough capacity to hold the entire symphony). It was awesome. I couldn't sing along too well, but I could a little, and I cranked up the volume, and the sun was shining and the breeze was blowing and the grass was totally easy to mow since I just did it two weeks ago. I got pretty much the whole thing done, so now it's ready for Isaac's party. Of course, since there are still three days till the party, I'll probably have to it again on Saturday, but that should be a snap.
Last night we also picked up the first CSA distribution. Man,
gosling wasn't kidding when she described it as "leafy greens of great profusion." We got...like...ten or twelve different kinds of leafy greens. Lettuce, kale, chard, and bok choy I can identify, but the others are going to take some research. My goodness. Note to self: clear space in fridge before next week's distribution. I had to do some serious pushing to get
metafrantic and
sandykidd's share in there for overnight.
Ruthie isn't feeling well the last couple of days. Last night she was so sad and droopy, I put her in the Mei Tai while I was getting Isaac ready for bed because I couldn't bear to hear her sad little cry. I dosed her up with ibuprofen before bed and she actually slept quite well (thank GOODNESS -- I was dreading another bad night) but this morning she was still cranky. Poor baby.
Getting to work was annoying today due to Harvard graduation. The bus couldn't go all the way into the Square so it had to let us off early and I had to walk all the way around the Yard. Hmf. The nerve.
In conclusion, let me just inform you that
lunaris1013 did some lolcubs (the Chicago baseball player kind of cubs, not actual animals) that are hilarious and you should go look at them. But only, you know, if you're into the whole lolcats thing. and baseball. yeah.
