rude awakening

A rude awakening is what we in the Boston area had this weekend, when winter returned with a vengeance after two weeks or so of 40-degree weather. Ah well, it had to happen.

Quick weekend update: ( Sunday we rode the bus )

( Monday I had a 'me day' despite snow, and then chorus rehearsal in the evening )

On the plus side, Isaac slept through the night (although the stupid cat woke me up at 5:30a.m.). On the minus side, I'm feeling guilty because I discovered that the radiator in Isaac's bedroom isn't radiating. So now I'm wondering whether that's why he's been sleeping poorly lately, because he's freezing his little tootsies off in there while I'm all snuggled in my nice heated waterbed. :( Time to place a call to my mom's plumber.

Wow, that was harder than I thought. Sure hope none of y'all have done any of those things, 'cause then I'd have to think of another! :)

Yesterday after it had snowed a bunch, I saw my next-door neighbor pushing his snowblower. I was looking out the window and could only see him from the waist up -- i.e., I couldn't actually see the snowblower, just its handle -- and for a second it looked like he was pushing a lawn mower.

Wouldn't it be great if they made a machine that was a lawn mower in summer and a snowblower in winter? That would be so freaking cool.
