anotherjen and her daughter. It was super-fun although of course when we got home we were totally exhausted.

Friday night, we slept over at grandma's house to keep her poor lonely kitties company. Grandma has been away almost two weeks (gets back tomorrow). The poor kitties are off their feed; they're still eating their dry food but mostly aren't touching their wet food. :( They played with us and snuggled in bed overnight. Awww.
Then on Sunday we went to a BBQ per invitation ofanotherjen again. Yay for yummy grilled food and cool people. And chocolate cake. ;)
I finished reading the latest Donald Westlake/Dortmunder book, The Road to Ruin, and continue to marvel at his talent. Now I'm reading, extremely belatedly, The Salmon of Doubt which is Douglas Adams's last work, published posthumously after his shockingly unexpected death back in May '01. :( Halfway through it, I suddenly realized that I had completely forgotten it was Hugo time! The voting deadline is July 31st. I don't think there's any chance I'll be able to get hold of and read all five nominated novels in time, but I want to read them all anyway, even if I don't get it done before the voting deadline, so I'll know whom to cheer for at the awards ceremony. :) It's high time I found out where the closest library to my new place is anyway, so....
