baby update and the such
Nov. 29th, 2003 12:15 pmI just posted a Thanksgiving update but friend-locked it in case any relatives should happen by. ;) Anyway, the short version is that Thanksgiving was nice.
Isaac is doing great. He is very very close to being able to sit up on his own (he can sit up for a few seconds before he starts to fall over -- he has the strength, just not the balancing skills) and to being able to roll over from his back to his tummy. He has figured out how to separate his thumb from his hand so he can suck on it individually, although he still likes to just stuff his whole hand in his mouth. He also has several toys that he enjoys putting in his mouth and sucking/chewing on. In a pinch, his burp-cloth will do nicely too. ;)
Also, in the last few days he has figured out how to blow raspberries. LOL! He vocalizes with it, so it sounds like he's saying "boo" but with more of a "bbb" than an "ooo" if you know what I mean. Anyway, it is hilarious. My mom thinks maybe we have taught him to do this because we've been doing it at him -- blowing a long raspberry so that your lips flap up and down makes him giggle like crazy. Personally I think it's just a sound that he's been working on for a while and now that he's got it, he's going to keep at it because it gets such a good reaction from us. It is pretty darn funny. :)
I'm having a bit of trouble figuring out how to dress him. I bought some "creepers" (I think that's what they're called -- one-piece outfits with long sleeves and legs) but they ride up on his chubby calves and leave marks. :( I might have to continue just dressing him in sleepers (the same thing only with closed feet) throughout the winter. He's outgrowing many of his sleepers though, so I need more. I did buy a few at the Carter's store on sale recently. They have SUCH nice cute stuff, but it's pricey, so I gotta exercise moderation.
More to say but he's waking up, so, later!
