back, etc.

Here I am, back from Worldcon and back at work. (What was I thinking? A six-day vacation followed immediately by moving back into my apartment and returning to work?? Yeesh.) Isaac is being okay -- some amount of crying, but also some amount of just eating and sleeping. Coworkers are being supportive so far. There's a new boss, whom I only met briefly as she was going into a meeting. Hopefully later today she'll come by and discuss projects and priorities with me so I know what the heck I'm supposed to be doing.

I'm trying to be optimistic about this whole bringing the baby to the office thing. I have my worries about it but am trying to tell myself it'll be fine.

Toronto and Worldcon were lots of fun. We didn't actually do a whole lot of con stuff (panels, etc. -- although I did get to hear Terry Pratchett do a reading from his new book) but we did a lot of hanging out and it was fun. Everyone was so helpful with the baby, it was really great, and reassuring, because I wasn't sure I could handle it on my own.

And then my Worldcon pals Laura and Ariana got married! What fantastic serendipity, that Canada legalized gay marriage just in time for Worldcon! It was the most beautiful wedding *snif* and the minister was soooo cool. Isaac's first wedding *snif*! I got to be an official witness, which made my day. :) I really think it was the nicest wedding I've ever been to. *snif*
