events!

Remember yesterday when I wrote about a bizarre loud noise in my apartment? It happened again today, several times. I finally figured out that it is somehow related to flushing the toilet. Each time it happened was about fifteen or twenty seconds after I had flushed. Once I realized that this was a reliable and reproducible scenario, I called the landlord. He wasn't home, but I explained the problem to his wife and she said she'll let him know when he gets home. He's at work today, apparently, and I have no idea when he gets home from work or how tired he'll be. I hope he won't be too tired to come over and look at it tonight. Now I'm scared to flush. And at this point in my pregnancy, I have to pee a LOT. Sigh.

I'm also scared to take a shower, which is what I was about to do after the last time I flushed and finally figured out that was causing the noise. I dunno, I'm so dumb about household stuff, I keep thinking that maybe the problem is somehow related to usage of water, in which case taking a shower would make it worse. So I'm sitting around feeling all icky and grungy, and fretting about the plumbing. And people wonder why I don't want to own property! Just think how much MORE I'd be fretting right now if I thought this was going to be all my problem to fix.
