Yesterday's discussion of King Lear with
thamiris (in context of "Angel"'s Cordelia) made me realize how long it's been since I read it. Lovely, another item to add to my ever-growing "to be read" pile. And I think there was, like, a movie of it not long ago that I should see, wasn't there? With Patrick Stewart or something? (OMG, I just found it on IMDB. With Matt Lescher!
jenwrites probably saw it already and didn't tell me!)
In college we had to act out scenes, and since it was a "feminism and Shakespeare" class we were all chicks, so I was Lear. And the chick who played Goneril called me "Daddy" for the next three years. :) She'd come up to me in the cafeteria all, "Can I borrow the car?" and I'd be all, "no, finish your homework."
Damn. College. We thought we were so funny. I'm old.
In other news, I did not of course get to bed early, being as how I put off the majority of the packing until like midnight. I got it done, though. I love cons that you drive to, because you just toss stuff in the car and worry about it less. Of course, I already thought of something I forgot, but it's not crucial. Just think, a few mere hours from now I could be watching Gigi Edgley do karaoke. Heh.
Suddenly it occurred to me that the two compact flash cards I have for my digital camera, 20MB and 16MB respectively, are not going to be nearly enough for all the pix I'm going to want to take in Japan (and Hawaii). So I bought a 128MB flash card off eBay. I might get another one too. Now that I've finally figured out how to change my camera off the highest-resolution, largest-picture setting (which makes each picture take up more space on the flash card), I should be able to fit over a thousand pix onto my three flash cards. Wow. I think I'll need more webspace when I get back ;)
BTW, if anyone on my friends-list wants a postcard (or a small, easily acquired and transported souvenir) from Japan and/or Hawaii, email me your address. I make no promises, but I'll try.
In other news, I found that someone (other than me) was doing Buffy transcripts for buffyworld.com, so I emailed her and asked whether Jörg could post them on psyche as well, since it seems clear that I'm not going to get around to them, and she said that would be fine. She also says she's planning to do the rest of the season, so I'm off the hook! Okay, slightly mixed emotions since I've been doing it for so long and it's been fun and I've gotten emails from all over the world ... but also, I'm five episodes behind and she's already done them, and I've been doing it for so long and it's tiring and I'm busy. So, long story short: Yay. Mad props to Cari Cranberry. :)
As promised, this entry was very random.
