shallow thoughts
Sep. 19th, 2002 03:27 pmI wish I had the energy to post something deep. (I even have a topic in mind! The Decline Of Critical Thought In Modern Society!) But at this point it would just come out snarky anyway, so why bother? Instead, here are some thoughts on "Smallville" as we get ready for the new season to start.
Thought #1: Upon rewatching the pilot twice now, I really am impressed by the cleverness of the "Clark not being allowed to play football" plot device. It makes total sense that his parents would forbid him to play because they worry about his powers being discovered; and since being on the football team is such an important macho-teenage-guy thing, *not* being on the team (and not being able to tell anyone why) helps to contribute to Clark's overall nerdy/wimpy image. Thus distancing him further from his secret identity. Nice job by the writers there.
Thought #2: ( based on a spoiler about the upcoming season )
Thought #3: Could Michael Rosenbaum get any sexier? I don't know, but I'm eager to find out.
Thought #4: It amuses the hell out of me that so many of the characters have livejournals. There's Clark
clarkster, Lana
gothlana, Lex
ajluthor,
lionel_luthor,
jonathan_kent,
marthakent,
chloe_sullivan, even the Kent family cows
kentcows, and also Pete, Whitney, and Dominic although their usernames slip my mind at the moment. It should be interesting to follow everyone's thoughts and reactions as the new season gets underway.
Thought #5: I have finally found a Chlex fanfic that makes me find the pairing believable, even hot. It is The Autumn People by jenn. Great story. I love it.
So there you have my shallow "Smallville" thoughts for the moment. I know you're thrilled.
