contemplating how to rearrange my furniture. Since getting rid of the futon I haven't actually done anything with the space it was inhabiting. First step is to clear up the spaghetti tangle of wires around the computer and move it to the right, so it's not blocking like the entire sofa. But after that...? Problem is that the spot where the futon was contains a big radiator, which limits the number of items that can be placed there. No books or electronic components of any sort can go near the heating source. That's part of the problem in the bedroom too.
Melissa wants to give me a dresser, and I want to take it, but I'm not sure where to put it. She went off to Shore Leave where she will ogle James Marsters (*snif*!) and hopefully win prizes for the Crais costume that she made for Extra Andy ... but the point is that she left me her keys in case I decided to go over to her place and take the dresser. I don't know if I'll be able to do so this weekend though, as it would require at least one other person to help with the lifting. It's large and, I presume, fairly heavy. If I can't find a place for it right now, I'd still like to take it, stash it in the basement for the time being. It would be a really good piece for Plan G, is the thing.
I'm wondering whether it would be possible to move the piano. That is, whether there's another place the piano could go other than where it is now. When I moved in, I kind of felt like there was only one wall where the piano could go. It's away from heat and windows, and close enough to the outer walls that I feel slightly less guilty about annoying the upstairs neighbors. I'll have to eyeball things again and see whether there might be somewhere else it could go. I don't think so, but maybe. We'll see.
I enjoy looking at the spaces and trying to figure out where everything should/could go -- I even enjoy moving the pieces around, annoying as that can be. I'm not necessarily very good at it -- spacial visualization and such isn't my strongest suit -- but it's fun. And it keeps me off the streets *g*.
Just discovered that my credit-card bill was due yesterday. D'oh! It's not that I didn't have the money to pay it, it's just that I flaked. I suck. Now they're going to smack me with the fuckin' $29 late fee and I'll have no one to blame but myself. Well, and maybe
bob_dot_com. Yeah, it's all his fault! I feel better already.
I have so got to see MIIB this weekend. I'm so damn sick of turning my head and going "la la la" every time the commercial comes on. I was so psyched for it when I first heard about it months ago, I never would have believed it would be in theaters a whole ten days before I saw it! Unfortunately all the movie theaters I frequent are being picketed by union projectionists who say they were locked-out of their jobs because contract negotiations failed. So I have to boycott the theaters. This sucks (more for the projectionists than for me, but still). Stupid frickin' Big Brother, messing up my weekend plans!
