birthday report
Mar. 17th, 2002 02:05 amBirthday was low-key. Having just gotten back from tour, I wasn't up for a lot of excitement. Went to the mall with my mom to pick up her new IMac -- the one with the cool swively flat monitor! It's soooooo cool. I'll be inheriting her old PowerMac as soon as she gets all her stuff transferred over. I'll either get a G3 upgrade card for it, or maybe just install Linux. :)
Then some friends came over and we all went to dinner and ice cream. The fact that I was able to pull together a group of six friends for my birthday dinner on one day's notice means that either a) my friends really love me or b) my friends have no lives. ;)
I got home a little late and missed most of Ian McKellan on SNL. Aww. I'll catch it in reruns. I also didn't get around to finishing the Buffy "Hell's Bells" transcript -- hoping to finish it tomorrow so I can get to "Normal Again." There's also a lot of TV on TiVo from while I was away, that needs to be watched.
I didn't get a lot of gifts but that's okay. My mom gave me a wok, although she actually didn't because they didn't have the right one when she went to the store, but she gave me the promise of a wok, and we're going to go shopping for it tomorrow. My uncle sent a cool pin that he found at a museum shop in LA; it's shaped like a Star Trek communicator, and when you tap it, the little lights flash. Zil gave me chocolate, which of course is never unwelcome. :) And the IRS gave me my federal tax refund of $143, so that was nice. ;)
And now to bed. Tomorrow: more birthday celebrations, with the friends who were busy today. :)
